About Me:

I make video games for a living. Star Wars Games. Mission Impossible Games. Hunger Games Games.

I not only play games; I analyze them… to an incredible level of detail. I do so to deeply understand what makes them fun: How the various elements and considerations of design,  psychology, neuroscience, timing, reward, etc. combine to create an engaging experience:

Does the game achieve an optimal balance of reward and frustration at the right frequencies to maximize dopamine release over time?
Does it successfully balance player skill vs. game difficulty to keep the player in a mental “flow state”?
Is the game’s virtual economy balanced? Are items priced effectively, with strategic use of scarcity, discounting, and timing?

One day in December 2019 my family was involuntarily signed up for one of the worst games ever contemplated by our universe. And we were signed up... Permanently. It’s a game from which, absent some future scientific miracle, there is no escape.
