Game Feature: Pets!
...The $25,000 Upgrade

Game Design Background: In-Game Pets
Most Massively Multiplayer Online Games have the ability to purchase an in-game pet. It’s a very effective tool to increase your emotional attachment to the game. Your pet will follow you around, attack enemies, collect things, smell the blood flowing through your veins to sense your blood sugar levels… Wait, what?!
Did you know - There are specially-trained dogs that are taught how to smell low blood sugar and alert their owners?!
Yup, this game has pet upgrades. For the low price of $20,000-30,000 you can have your very own diabetes dog.
You know that argument you’ve been having with your kids since they learned to say “doggie!”? All the reasons you’ve been giving to avoid having to buy them a dog?
Poop, travel limitations, poop, multiple daily walks, poop…
Yeah, you just lost that argument. Big time.
Like every other upgrade in this game, a diabetes dog comes out of a loot box - and there’s always a chance you end up with a defective dud. Most online reviews are gushingly positive “Fido works better than my Dexcom CGM!”, but every once in a while you encounter someone who shelled out $25,000 for a diabetes dog that can’t detect lows. In other words, just a dog.
