You’re about to leave the hospital after 48 hours, so now you’re no longer going to have an army of tutorial NPCs around to help you. You’re going home, and you’re going to need an instruction manual. 

Game Design Background: NPCs
The acronym ‘NPC’ simply refers to Non Player Characters. These are the other characters in the game that are managed by the computer. Often they’ll give you tips on how to play the game.

Here is your one-page guide. This is the best the system has to offer.  On it you’ll find a bunch of cryptic notes - including a random assortment of mathematical tables, crossed-out ratios, and handwritten instructions. 

I still look back on this sheet with horror. Worst. Instruction. Manual. Ever.
